I bought my Tmobile Touch Pro 2 full body kit for $13.97 which is not bad for two full sets along with life time replacement. If you are a returning customer just log in to your account and then add the product you want to the cart (20% will already be applied) then during the checkout process use the coupon code "cymon" and you will get the 30% discount. Hope this helps someone. I know I was waiting on something like this to come around to get my screen protectors.

Looks like it ends at 1pm MST. So if you are going to get one hurry.

Google announced today that it is giving free Wi-Fi to at the airports to everyone as part of their Holiday gift to the people. The offer starts today and goes all the way till January 15, 2010.

The gift currently includes 47 airports, including Las Vegas, San Jose, Boston, Baltimore, Burbank, Houston, Indianapolis, Seattle, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando, St. Louis and Charlotte. Additionally, as a result of this project, Burbank and Seattle airports will begin offering airport-wide free Wi-Fi indefinitely.

"We’re very happy to extend our Holiday Wi-Fi gift to the millions of people who will spend time in airports over the next few months," said Marissa Mayer, Vice President of Search Products and User Experience at Google. "We know that this is a very hectic travel season for people, and we hope that free Wi-Fi will make both traveling and connecting with friends and family a little bit easier."

Hope this helps some of the frequent travelers or those who are traveling over the holidays and have some long layover times. Also if there is bad weather and you are stranded in the airport then having free internet might give you something to do and pass your time.

Also those traveling on Virgin America flights will have free Wi FI access in flight as well. Hope someone can get good use out of this offer.

Tmobile Service Outage Credit

November 4th, 2009 — 8:47am Posted by Vikram

Tmobile was experiencing service outages last night. At around 7pm EST my phone lost service, I could not get a signal. Thinking it was a problem with my phone I did a few soft resets and finally got signal back but I still could not get send a text messages. I could call out but I could not receive calls and sometimes I could not do either. The service was really intermittent so I called Tmobile and they said they are having some problems and they are aware of it. Also the rep offered me a credit of $5 for the one hour that the service was out or I can wait till the service comes back for the to calculate how long the service was out and credit me accordingly. He said I should see the adjustment in my next bill. So if you do not see a credit in your next bill and you were effected by the service outage make sure to call Tmobile.

Wallstreet journal reports that,

The outage began at 5:30 p.m. EST on Tuesday, and at around 1:30 a.m. EST on Wednesday morning, the carrier confirmed that service had been restored.

Hope this is not a continuing trend with Tmobile as they recently experienced a data service outage with their sidekicks for a week or so I think and now they lost all their services for a few hours.

HTC Dragon Update

October 12th, 2009 — 1:01pm Posted by Vikram

PPC geeks dug up some interesting information about the HTC Dragon. We all knew that the HTC Dragon was going to be running Android on a 1 GHZ but ppc geeks says that the Dragon will actually be running on a OMAP 3640 chipset ARMv7 Cortex A8 instead of the Qualcomm 1 GHZ as we originally thought. This change in the chipset and the fact that the device will be running android should give the device a huge boost in speed. Also PPC geeks reports that the Dragon will only be released in China as a CDMA device. Thanks to Sean for sending us this tip.

Toolbox in your Pocket

October 12th, 2009 — 11:48am Posted by Vikram

Here is a cool little app called mtoolbox from [germany]merlot over at XDA. This app uses several of the phones built in sensors to give you variety of tools like a light sensor, ruler, level and angle meter, and a shock sensor. I have actually used the level sensor a lot in my research lab to make sure that the level of my gel is even because people don’t put the real levels where they are supposed to be.

Overview_mToolbox

The app is available for all the different screen resolutions including VGA, WVGA, and QVGA. Click here for the XDA thread or here to go directly to the download site.  Give the app a try or just leave it on your phone. You never know when you might need to get an approximate length of something or when you might want to measure the seismic activity of an earth quake :)

Best Instant Messaging Client?

August 25th, 2009 — 10:37pm Posted by Vikram

Which instant messaging (IM) client is the best? I have seen this question asked so many times in the forums and being a heavy user of instant messaging on my phone I decided to do a review of all the IM clients that I know.  I am only going to review the ones that are free (Sorry IM+) and ones that do not use text messages (Sorry OZ). This review is mostly for AIM, Gtalk and Facebook since those are the ones that I use the most.  Here is a list of the ones that are included in this review: Beejive IM, Palringo, Nimbuzz, Talkonaut, Ebuddy and Fring. All IM clients are latest versions as of 8/25/09.

Touch Pro II 6 Way Calling

August 19th, 2009 — 10:15am Posted by Vikram

Couple weeks ago Aaron posted on how to get  6 way calling on your Fuze and now there is a registry edit to get 6 way calling on the T-Mobile Touch Pro II. The Touch Pro II is originally limited to call only 2 people but the guys over at pocket now found that changing the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\PHONE\MaxConferenceSize from 2 to 6 gives you the ability to set up a conference call with up to 6 people after soft resetting.

Tmobile Touch Pro II $149.99

August 15th, 2009 — 11:41am Posted by Vikram

Here is how to get the Touch Pro II for $149.99 with a two year contract directly through Tmobile. Call Tmobile Business Direct at 866-464-8662, then choose option 3 and when they ask for a promotion code mention “windows mobile”. Once you do that they should tell you that the Touch Pro II is $149.99, activation fee is waived and a data plan is required. I did not get my phone using this method yet, I only called and verified that it is indeed accurate and that the device is actually $149.99. So if anyone gets the phone this way let us know how it went.

Tmobile TP2 Official Pricing

August 10th, 2009 — 8:05pm Posted by Vikram

highlighted-big1

Looks like the Tmobile Touch Pro 2 pricing roller coaster has finally stopped. The Touch Pro 2 will cost an arm $349.99 with a two year contract, a leg $399.99 for one year contract, and your life insurance $549.99 with out any contract. The device should be coming in two days. I think I am going to be selling my Fuze and buying the TP2 with my life insurance policy at $549.99. Who is still going to get one?
