Bill Gates Philanthropy Not Affected By Increased Time at Redmond

gates-satya Bill Gates, advocate of the widely criticized Common Core educational changes as well as renowned good guy and philanthropist, has been spending more time at Redmond as of late. Even though he just dropped 50 million dollars to fight the Ebola outbreak. From the Huffington Post:

The foundation’s statement specified funds would immediately benefit United Nations agencies and international organizations involved in containing and treating the virus, allowing them to purchase necessary medical supplies and increase emergency operations. From the foundation’s total pledge, $5 million has already gone toward the World Health Organization (WHO), while another $5 million has been allocated for UNICEF efforts in some of the hardest hit regions of Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea.

While this is great, I wish someone would have done a better job in Dallas where God only knows how many people stand affected by Liberia man who held hands with a terminally ill pregnant woman consoling here before jumping a plan to the US and NOT telling anyone about it. Dallas, with a series of mistakes since sent him home. Wow. I feeling is this story will develop into something more serious.

But according to the Verge, Bill Gates has “‘substantially’ increased his time at Microsoft earlier this year to assist new CEO Satya Nadella”. So what is he doing there? The feeling is that he has been involved with developing the new touch version of Windows Office software that that could possibly launch next year. This along with Windows 10 excitement really mean good things for Microsoft.

Granted a lot of these things must have been in the pipeline under Ballmer but it seems that there is a new direction and tempo from Microsoft under Satya and Bill Gates. So how do you grade Microsoft so far “post Ballmer”? Drop a comment peeps.
