Joe does some HTML demos. First he does high def video and it plays flawless. Second he does a HTML test with iPhone 4, nexus S and current windows phone. Windows phone finished first, android second and iPhone finished when ever it felt like it.

also worthy of mention, address bar in IE when phone is in landscape mode.

Joe did a quick demo of the new additions to the app list. there will now be a text search for apps what will work much like it does in the contact buttons. Plus a search button and direct linking to market place.

Dell Starts Shipping Venue Pros Today (Updated)

Ok, for all you sick of the Venue Pro drama, I apologize, but this is hopefully the last "update" before we get our hands on an actual Venue Pro. Apparently Dell has indeed begun shipping some Venue Pros ahead of the Jan. 6th estimate. Dell has marked my order as "shipped" and Fedex gives an estimated delivery date of Dec. 17. Thank you Dell for getting everything taken care of. I can’t wait to get my hands on this device. I’ve literally been dreaming of it since I first saw it leaked months ago. Complaints about the delay aside, I’m extremely happy to know that my phone is on the way…finally. Hopefully all of the bugs have been worked out and I can give this phone the A+ rating it deserves.

UPDATE: Looks like Dell never upgraded my shipping to Next Day Delivery, but I’m not complaining; I’m getting my phone, and that’s all I really wanted. Just thought I would mention it. Hopefully Dell remembers to upgrade everyone else to Next Day service.

Paul Thurrott, who is one of my favorite bloggers out there, has his newest book coming out later this month or as he states Nov 9th on Amazon. What is interesting about this book is that Paul documented almost the entire writing process on this book. Visit windowsphonesecrets.com for nice amount of information on the writing process and other secrets on WP7 hardware and the platform. I will more than likely be buying one and reviewing it here later this year.

Phonedog.com’s Noah Kravitz was treated to a 10 minute Hands-on with the prototype Samsung model. His take away was a very positive one. He even went out on a limb and tweeted, “the Windows Phone 7 ui demo makes iPhone look like a dinosaur.”

John Gruber likes Windows Phone 7, not so much Android

John Gruber is a well known advocate of apple’s much loved iOS platform, some even say fan boy. No matter what you call him, his thoughts in the mobile world carries a great deal of weight.

John spoke about his impressions with Windows Phone 7 on his Podcast. Much to everyone’s surprise, he had very positive things to say. Aside from the obvious admiration for the UI, he outlined the ease of use on the keyboard. He even noted it to be “fantastic.”

He then turned his attention to the browser. He mentioned how it handled tables on websites much like the iPhone. He proclaimed it to be a real creditable competitor in that field.

While praising a few of Windows Phone 7’s strong points, John also took the time to dish out a few jabs at Android. It was clear to see he did not like android.

HTC Spark (WP7) In The Wild

If you haven’t seen enough already, there’s a whole gallery of HTC Spark images here on XDA. There’s not a lot that’s new here except that the HTC HUB can be a single tile (not just the double wide tile that they often show). So you can show weather in a single tile for example and the HUB itself is just one tile in size. And this is a 3.8” screen so it’s a lot smaller than the HD2.

Gotta admit, the HTC WP7 phones all look the same to me…I like them, but it’s harder to get excited the 3rd time around…
