iOS 5.1.1 Getting Pushed to Phones

It’s been available for a few days on iTunes and the update itself is nothing to get too exicited about, but iOS 5.1.1 just got pushed to my iPhone 4S last night. The process was, as always, easy and remarkably fast. Had a notification that the update was ready, tapped it, Learn More was next so I could see for myself what it entailed.

  • Improves the reliability of using the HDR option for photos taken using the Lock Screen shortcut
  • Addresses bugs that could prevent the new iPad from switching between 2G and 3G networks
  • Fixes bugs that affected AirPlay video playback in certain circumstances
  • Improved reliability for syncing Safari bookmarks and Reading List
  • Fixes an issue where ‘Unable to purchase’ alert could be displayed after successful purchase

Honestly, I have not experienced a lot of these issues myself, but it apparently has affected some users enough to get Apple to create this update. Again the update process was very easy over my home WiFi and was amazingly fast. The update itself was 54mb in size.
