iPhone 5 Untethered Jailbreak Announced for December 22

dreamjbFor what could have been a great release for Apple on the iPhone 5 has sadly been very underwhelming in my opinion. I had such high expectations but even thought there are some pretty handy updates, the OS and Hardware has left me looking for greener pastures. Should I make a statement like that and not briefly outline my dismay? Digress from the true purpose of this article about what could be the iPhone 5’s only saving grace? As it turns out, the December 22 announcement of an untethered Jailbreak could be as worthless perhaps as my opinion about Apples slide backwards. The one thing I do have going for me is that I am mostly  preaching to the Windows Phone Choir  here.

It appears  that there is a new group of hackers pointing their skills to unlocking the fullest potential of the iPhone by Jail Breaking it called Dream JB. Not the normal famed hackers we hear about like @musclenerd, @pod2g and @p0sixninja who have built up quite a reputation. According to the Dream JB website which got updated yesterday:

Update December 10, 2012 1:02 AM EST – Proof will be posted both here and on my Twitter account on Wednesday. As far as the video that will be uploaded, it will be a single-take shot of the entire jailbreak process, including a restart and usage of the device to prove it is untethered. It will be uploaded as raw video straight from my camera to YouTube. So no edits in any form. Thank you all for your patience and support. Also, with the extremely high volume of tweets and over 4500 emails, I will try to address the public as I can. I ask that you read the FAQ before contacting me by email. I will update the FAQ for you all tomorrow morning. I’ve also moved past website updates to the bottom of the page. Goodnight everyone!

We can only hope for the iPhone 5 Untethered Jailbreak Announced for December 22 to happen. That would be good news in the long awaited Jailbreak of the untethered flavor we all crave. Addicted to packages and Cydia, we all long for control of our device. Stay tuned my friends, maybe we will roll into the Christmas break loading up all of our old Cydia favorites once more. We’ll keep you posted.
