LG Optimus 2X dual core Android Device gets Official

lgoptimus2xLast month we were talking about the LG Star, the new Flagship Android device coming that would make use of the NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor, get’s official and also gets a name change, the Optimus 2X. This will be the first look at the 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor which basically will utilize the two cores at 50% and yield a 40% lower power consumption than a normal 1GHz processor which would need to run at 100% capacity. The Optimus 2X will come with a 4 inch WVGA screen, 1080p Video recording and video out via HDMI, 8mp rear camera and a 1.3mp front shooter.

the LG Optimus 2X will also pack a 1500 mAh battery and come with 8mb of internal memory and expandable 32gb microSD capacity. LG will launch the Optimus 2X with Froyo, Android 2.2 but pledges to bring us Android 2.3 Gingerbread in the near future after launch. Korea will see the Optimus 2X first and it will make it’s way around Asia and Europe there after. No word on any dual core goodness coming State Side anytime soon but we will keep you posted.

I gotta say, this is a pretty nice looking device. LG has taken some flack over their Windows Phone entry with the Quantum. Many have mentioned mediocre build quality while others have defended it. Needless to say, the Optimus 2X looks like it has the good stuff included and will get some attention just based on the under the hood specs. Let’s hope we see this or something else with dual core soon.
