Great news for all you TEDTalks followers. TED just announced the availability of an app that allows iPad owners to browse and view hundreds of TEDTalks videos. The videos are between 30 seconds to 30 minutes long and cover a wide range of topics.
For anyone unfamiliar with TED, TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to “Ideas Worth Spreading.” What began as a California-based conference 26 years ago, now takes place globally every year and focuses on spreading world-impacting ideas to as many people as possible. TED hosts and supports the leading thinkers and doers as they speak for 18 minutes to a captivated crowd. The talks are then posted on TED.com, free to download.
The TED iPad app is free and now available through the App Store in iTunes. This features an “Inspire Me” button, which upon activation reveals a watch face and the question: “How much time do you have?” Enter a time and choose between Inspiring, Funny, or Jaw-dropping and you’ll be presented with a list of talks that fit your time crunch.
There are many more features and organizational options that allow the user to sift through the more than 700 talks easily and efficiently. If you have never experienced TED before and own an iPad, this is a must download app. Go on, what are you waiting for? Change the world.
