Yahoo, who is been around for 18 years is looking to make a change from their current iconic purple logo that they have been using for quite some time. Kathy Savitt, Yahoo’s Chief Marketing Officer, posted on the company’s Tumblr blog which they acquired along with almost 20 other start up companies under new CEO Marissa Mayer’s command that “While the company is rapidly evolving, our logo – the essence of our brand moved – should too,”. Yahoo wants a more modern logo that according to Savitt is “more reflective of our reimagined design and new experiences,” .

Yahoo will change their logo on their website, Facebook page, Twitter, and Tumblr Blog each day and will unveil a new permanent logo on September 4th at 9pm PST.
