Belkin Announces They Have Acquired Linksys

Some late breaking news for the end of the day. Belkin has just announced that they have acquired Linksys from Cisco. With the purchase of the Home Networking Division from Cisco, Belkin, who is a well known brand in its own right, now adds another popular networking brand Linksys to its portfolio. Belkin says that with the purchase of Linksys that they now have 30% of the home wireless networking market. Belkin will also honor all past warranties from ownership under Cisco and plans to continue to develop the Linksys brand going forward. Terms of the deal where not disclosed and are not expected as Belkin is a privately held company but we are sure it is a really big check! The deal is said to close in March.
