Best Buy cutting $50 off iPhone 5? What does this mean?

Best Buy is doing you all a favor and slashing the iPhone 5 by $50 across all models! No word on how long this deal will last, and The Verge has done some homework and reported there is a good amount of stock left, most available for in store pick up. So if you’ve been thinking about picking yourself up one of the fruit company’s finest, perhaps now is the time.

I can’t help but think to myself, first, unlocked iPhone 5’s were available seemingly days after release, refurbished iPhone 5’s were available just weeks after launch, now cold hard cash discounts? Have we ever seen this with any other iPhone on the market? None of the data suggest Apple is having problems moving units, so what gives? Could this be a case of “pressure busts pipes?” Sound off!
