Google says “its their choice” when asked about replacing iOS 6 Maps

Apple’s new Maps app has not been widely accepted; in fact, most are rebelling in favor of the old fan favorite Google maps. It was only a matter of time before the rumors started to fly about an iOS 6 Google Maps to be approved. Turns out those were just rumors. Google’s CEO had this to say in Tokyo yesterday:

“We haven’t done anything yet with Google Maps,” Schmidt told reporters in Tokyo today. Apple would “have to approve it. It’s their choice,” Schmidt said, declining to say if the Mountain View, California-based company submitted an application to Apple for sale through its App Store.

Well then, until Apple can fix the maps app or Google Maps will be approved, looks like the users will continue to suffer.
