PlayStation news: I hope you didn’t update your firmware yesterday
|Well, I woke up this morning to my Twitter feed going OMG MY PS IS BRICKED.
Yesterday, Sony released a firmware update, 4.45, that was supposed to disable trophy mode if you wanted, and probably other things, but the digital waves are now awash in bricked console stories.
Sony has removed the update and rolled back the current to 4.41, so you’re all good as long as you didn’t update yesterday.
The anecdotal evidence seems to be that 500GB HDDs and after-market HDDs are disproportionally effected. Luckily, my husband started downloading and Uncharted 3 bundle pack from the PlayStation Plus store about 9am and it too THIRTEEN EFFING HOURS. But that’s another rant.

The same thing happened with my Sony MW1 “Smart Bluetooth headset”
They released an update that essentially bricked the device for some users. Took more than 2 months for Sony to release another update, and even that didn’t help everyone.
Made me change my mind about considering the new “Z” phone.
Now this…
Too bad for Sony, I have been a fan for a long time.
Peace
2 months? Eeew.
