RSS Reader Feedly Updated for iOS and Android

There is no doubt we all still have a bad taste in our mouth from Google pulling the best RSS reader we had out from under us. Many have been looking for a suitable replacement and while there are a lot of them out there, especially for mobile, the name I hear most often and what I am currently using is Feedly. For the desktop, Feedly grabbed all my RSS subscriptions from Google and imported them in. That part worked nicely. But to get the search capabilities that Google Reader had you have to pay Feedly and go to their Pro Version which is $5 dollars monthly or $45 dollars a year. I know $5 bucks isn’t a lot but when you are already stacked up with other subscription services like Netflix, Slacker, Amazon Prime, etc there comes a point when you can no longer justify these small monthly fees.

Still, Feedly is the closest replacement to Google Reader I have found and they have just updated their mobile apps to version 24.4. It has been optimized for iOS 8 and the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus as well as Android. Feedly has added tagging, Facebook messenger integration and better card views. Looks pretty good indeed. Head on over to the App store or Google Play to get yours.
