Sharp Galapagos 3D Android Phone requires no glasses!
|This might be one of the coolest things I have seen come out of the CES show yet! Check out the video on the Sharp Galapagos which is showing off it’s 3D screen that does not require 3D glasses! A few tidbits about the 3D experience you will get from the Galapagos is 1) you can adjust the amount of the 3D depth you want, and 2) it will take 3D pictures via software instead of multiple cameras. As described in the video (The lady is not too excited is she?) you will actually take the first picture of the desired object and then rotate slightly left and right taking two more. The result is not a panoramic photo but more of a holographic type 3D image. Very cools stuff I must say! The Sharp Galapagos is running on the Android operating system and it currently available in Japan but is said to be coming to the United States sometime this year.
