If you are thinking about an Andriod Tablet this year then no doubt you are drooling over the Motorola XOOM. Featuring the new Honeycomb Operating System, the XOOM is also packing some serious power in the NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor.

We have been reporting some rumors on pricing but both of them had the XOOM at the 800 dollar range. Well browsing around Best Buys website today iChris Leiter came across the XOOM for a deal breaking $1,199.99! Wow. Obviously this price for the XOOM can’t be right being higher than a lot of laptops. So hopefully Best Buy is working on this page and we can expect to see better pricing closure to launch.

MOTOROLA XOOM Tablet / NVIDIA Tegra Processor / 10.1″ Display / 1GB Memory / 32GB Hard Drive: 10.1″ display; webcam; Bluetooth; 32GB hard drive; 1GB DDR2 memory; 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi

  1. If this weren’t a mistake it could be a good example of one consumer behavior trait we see all the time, the Giffen good, which is what they call something for which demand actually increases with price (usually extravagant or electively luxurious items and services, from wine to boob jobs). Worth a read, you’ll feel smarter after: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giffen_good

Damn, never thought we’d see a price this high on a cell phone-like product falling under our subject turf. Nice screen shooting cowboy.
