It is considered the Holy Grail of technology: wireless power. Though some early experiment s reported some success, it has been more a sci-fi dream than a modern-day reality. Until now.
Nokia is now reporting that they have developed a mobile phone that powers itself by harvesting ambient radio waves from the air and converting it into usable power. Apparently, there are loads of this type of energy floating around us in the form of wireless, TV, and radio waves (no wonder have a headache all the time!) just waiting to be used.
Now don’t get your knickers in an uproar just yet. Nokia says that this technology is still 3-5 years out. But Tesla (both the scientist and the heavy-metal band) would be proud.
