The next GSMA Mobile World Congress will be held between February 27th and March 1st, 2012 in Barcelona,  Spain. This year the MWC has introduced the new and improved “My MWC” event portal for MWC. In addition to social networking, My MWC has the new Deal Accelerator tool which lets you connect with potential business partners.

There are many new things that are going to be presented at MWC 2012. The Forum Series at MWC 2012 covers new mobile technologies through dedicated sessions. There is going to be a lot of insight into what is coming in the next few years and which devices would use those newer technologies. The forums include:

LTE Forum that let you explore the future revolution in mobile data utility and network architecture.

Mobile Cloud Forum, which focuses on how cloud computing will revolutionize mobile app development and usage and inherently effecting the mobile ecosystem altogether.

And Mobile Security Forum, which would layout the best practices to layer on and/or incorporate information security products for mobile ecosystem including the target delivery platforms such as mobile phones, and other devices.

You can find about My MWC portal, Deal Accelerator tool, the forums, exhibit pavilions and zones at GSMA MWC portal.

MWC says “The exhibition features more than 1,400 companies from 59 countries and occupies more than 58,600 square metres of exhibition and hospitality over seven halls and numerous outdoor areas. We’re frequently asked if the halls have themes, or where people can go to experience specific types of stands.”, which is really interesting to see and pretty exciting. I hope a lot of good stuff will be announced during the upcoming MWC days.
