Home Depot and liquor stores – two places I know if I walk into I can find something I need and I’ll leave with something in hand. Well one of them has an official Windows Phone app:

The Home Depot app provides the ability to research and purchase over 100,000 products directly from within the app. Now you can find all the details you want and purchase the products that you need right from your mobile device. Now it’s easier than ever for you to get inspired, search, plan, shop and get more done on the go.
SEARCH FROM YOUR MOBILE DEVICE
• Appliances
• Bath
• Building Materials
• Décor
• Doors and Windows
• Electrical
• Floor
• Kitchen
• Lighting and Fans
• Outdoor
• Paint
• Storage
• Tools and Hardware
STORE LOCATOR
No matter where you are you can always find a Home Depot nearby. Our app uses your phone’s GPS or you can use your zip code to immediately locate your closest Home Depot, complete with directions, store phone number and hours of operation – so you can start shopping and start saving right away.
IN-STORE MAPS
Don’t know where to find what you need in your favorite Home Depot store? With In-Store Maps you can quickly find the map and layout for the store you are shopping in or for any Home Depot store across the country to help you find what you need.
MY ACCOUNT & MY LISTS
The Home Depot app makes it easy to keep tabs on everything that catches your eye. Save tools and materials directly to your list to remember for later. Now you can log into your homedepot.com account directly from your phone.

I doubt this will stop me from mindlessly waling through their aisles in search of something to leave with, but it’s always good to see some of the larger corporations writing apps for Windows Phones.

  1. Damn, you beat me to it. Glad i checked first. Anyway, this app works pretty well. The in-store map is a bit lame but now I know where the restrooms are tucked away. Here is the link: zune://navigate/?phoneAppID=b8a2b9ac-f853-e011-854c-00237de2db9e

  2. Good thing that such a huge name (Microsoft) is trying to break in to the market. Their name recognition alone will help to convince large corporations such as Home Depot to create apps for the platform. Still not regretting my HTC Surround purchase, and only more good things to come.
