imageThe long awaited updated developer tools are available now. You can download them from here. The update provides a new emulator with copy and paste, speed enhancements and some bug fixes. There are also updates in the develop resources in line with this. Most apps in Marketplace do not need any update to take advantage of the changes though.

Brandon Watson also noted that there are now 1,000,000 downloads of the Windows Phone Developer Tools, over 27,000 registered developers and currently 7,500 apps (so there are plenty of developers that didn’t’ release apps yet and helpfully a lot in the pipeline).

Finally, they added the ability to buy carrier locked but unsubsidized phones through Zones. They’re still at least $500 but are data plan free
