Microsoft is gearing up to bring their mobile phone os and desktop os together using the same kernel. Yes we all expect Windows 8’s adoption by hundreds of millions of users to play a huge role in Windows Phone success. Look no further than the desktop apps displaying prominent advertising for Windows Phone apps. See screenshot below.

This just goes to show devs that they’ll get quite a bang for their buck if they choose to develop Metro apps.


  1. The fact that you’re playing Wordament which is available for WP7 and W8 (playing the same board at the same time) won’t hurt either. I expect to see a lot more games that tie in to both over time.
