Windows Phone 7 World Domination Map
Today MS said “The Windows Phone Marketplace will support the buying and selling of applications in 17 countries; Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, UK and United States.” Not exactly world domination but I figured I’d make a little map to get a sense as to what it looks like. Uhm, not a lot of map filled in, huh?
Part of this is a limit on available languages: English, French, Italian, German and Spanish. OK so world domination is on hold…for now;)

yeah because the coca farmers in south america and the starvin marvins in africa are really going to be great customers for MS if they could just get that language pack out before launch…
well it supports Spanish so S America could be covered and there are plenty of affluent cities there. But what about China? It’s actually the #1 stronghold for WM.
I’m really surprised to see China not listed. Hopefully they’ll enter that market within the first year. Probably wants to get everything implemented before entering such a crucial market.
its not like the white areas simply cant have the phone, they will just have to do what we do when a sick as* phone comes out and doesnt come to america, buy it on ebay… plus after seeing the kin tank like that, can you blame microsoft for wanting to test the waters?
They shouldn’t be trying to cram every single country in at launch anyway. Focus on getting the phones out, making sure the supply is there for the demand and continue to add features in quickly. I don’t want WP7 to end up like the Droid Incredible and HTC EVO and experience extended shortages thats causing them to lose out on sells.
