Android Can Play Games With The Big Boys
|One of the disappointments with Android is the gaming experience on it (one that a PSP version would alleviate). But for now OpenFeint is alive for Android which means they are releasing some iPhone games for Android that you can now compete cross-platform. So the newly released Android version will have leaderboards, achievements, etc in common with the iPhone version. Today they’ve released five games for Android (Fruit Ninja, MiniSuadron, Super Slyder, The Moron Test, and Tic Tac Toe) and there are a lot more coming this month. The games are noted s being the same as the iPhone version except they take advantage of the extra hardware keys that Android has. These games are social games (not hardcore gamer style games) but the concept behind having this large cross-platform social aspect is pretty appealing. You can see more about the games here on their website. I don’t think this fills the gap but it’s a nice move by a third party to step up and broaden the gaming appeal of Android. What do you think?
