Dell still eyeing smartphones announce the STREAK PRO 101DL
|So the Dell Streak mini 5 never hit the ground running and as a result, failed to meet expectations. Probably a little larger than it should have been to be a phone, and too small to be a tablet, and landing with Android 1.6 on it didn’t help matters out much either. But a lot of people liked the device which also includes me. But all good things must end and Dell announced the EOL on the Streak mini 5 which brings us to today. Dell is back at it with another smartphone which does not lack anything in spec department. Check out the Dell Streak Pro 101DL and this thing is a hot rod for sure. Packing a 1.5GHz dual core processor by our good friends at QULACOMM, the MSM8260 should take care of all your needs. 4.3 inch Super AMOLED screen with qHD resolution made by more familiar dell partners, the Gorilla Glass. The camera duties will be handled by an 8 megapixel CMOS rear camera and a 1.3 front facing shooter. Dell Stage 2.0 will be included on what we hope to be Ice Cream Sandwich Android OS.
The Dell Streak Pro is a pretty sharp looking device as well and sized at 65×126×10.3mm and weighs 140g. Couple videos for you below and it looks like we can expect the 101DL to land in Japan first sometime in January 2012.

Damn I got excited when I saw “Pro” assumed that would be Windows.
I am happy with my Dell Streak 5″. I would consider another Dell smartphone.
I am not impressed with Android enough to go down in screen size.
Thank you for the news though, you got it to me first!
Peace
