Dell Venue Android 2.2 Device going to Korea First
|Dell is taking their Venue Pro Windows Phone device that was just (finally) released to US here a few days ago and will being making an Android flavor as well. The Dell Venue, an Android 2.2 device is set to be released in Korea later this month. Changing operating systems is not all you can expect to see different on the Pro. Removed will be the slide out keyboard that is on the Windows Phone version. I am not sure how much I will miss the keyboard because of how much I like using Swype. The Dell Venue will sport 4.1 inch AMOLED Gorilla Glass screen, and have GSM/EDGE/UMTS/HSPA support. Other than that and the price tag being 700,000 won which works out to be $600 bucks or so here in the United States, not much else is known about the Dell Venue.
Stay tuned and we will keep you posted on more information and possible US release.

If you’re gonig to make the same phone in an Android and Windows flavor, give it two distinct names. Seriously, this is like Motorola releasing the Droid running WP7 and still calling it Droid.
I wonder why they called the Android version the “Pro”?
Please read the original more carefully.
Venue Pro = device with QWERTY keyboard (running WP7)
Venue = slate device (running Android)
On the other hand you are right that this naming can be confusing with regards to OS differences. It also seems to be stupid to differentiate operating systems by hardware types. Personally I would prefer the Venue running WP7…
F$%&!!!! Damn I screwed that up huh? It’s fixed now, thanks!
