Don’t leave your device on your hot car or else
|We all know the iPhone is one of the hottest devices on the market right now. But what you don’t want to do is test how hot your iPhone can handle by leaving it in your car when you live in Florida! One of our readers forgot and accidentally left his iPhone in his car on a 100 degree (Fahrenheit) day and got the following message:
“Temperature iPhone needs to cool down before you can use it.”
I never got that message before but maybe this will serve as a reminder, don’t leave your device in a hot car! Got anything cool to share with our readers, please send it to us using the contact form at the top of the page. We love hearing from our readers and want to post more reader submissions!

Hey, that was me that left it in the car, and thats my phone! Lol.
@Casey:
Does that mean the iphone has a thermometer?
@Vasko : Yes, the iPhone 4 has a temperature sensor in the inside of it that monitors how hot the phone is, and shuts it off to prevent damage to its internals if it gets too overheated. This sensor sometimes fails, and then people have to go to an Apple Store to have it replaced. Although, my sensor seems to have done its job well.
Hmmm, I have noticed when I recorded a bunch of video at an outside concert or used it for GPS navigation the screen will sometimes turn itself off, never got that warning though.
If I have GPS and music running on a hot sunny day on my dash board mount without the AC blowing on the phone, it’ll sometimes fade the screen because it’s too hot. No biggie, just happy it will regulate itself instead of blowing up.
