Google closes up cell shop.
|I’m not one for saying I told you so, therefore I’ll just get right into it. Google has officially decided to stop selling the Nexus One online and move distribution into retail and carrier outlets. Cited reasons were customer’s desires to log some hands-on time before dropping 500+ bones on this thing, as well as the desire to not drop 500$ at all through carrier subsidization with contracts. I really think this could be a great turning point for the Nexus One’s adoption. These distribution issues, along with some minor scandalous road bumps, have mostly been alleviated. Google usually does a half-way decent job of listening to its critics and consumers and it looks like the trend is continuing. Let’s hope this pumps some life into this phone.
