Google: We can suggest where you go next, who to meet, what to read
|Eric Schmidt (Google CEO) was speaking at the TechCrunch Disrupt conference on Tuesday and said that in the future “We can suggest where you go next, who to meet, what to read.” He also stated:
It’s a future where you don’t forget anything…In this new future you’re never lost…We will know your position down to the foot and down to the inch over time…Your car will drive itself, it’s a bug that cars were invented before computers…you’re never lonely…you’re never bored…you’re never out of ideas.
Let’s give him a pass and presume he’s entirely right on where Google is headed. Anyone else kinda weirded out by these kind of statements? I’m going to leave this one wide open for all of you to tell me it’s paranoia or justified fear of these guys…

People today are too stupid to be concerned, all they care about is what they can get for free and they will gladly trade away any and all freedom to google.
But you don’t want to be lonely, do you, Dave? The Computer is your friend.
The World seems to be getting dumber (or at least more senseless) every day so Google will have no problem finding an ample supply of mindless followers.
