In App Purchases Will NOT Be Available In Mango

Developer’s have been asking for in-app commerce and after Beards & Beaks was released there was a lot of hope that in-app commerce was going to be live in Mango. Let’s put the rumors to rest. Todd Brix, of Microsoft, posted earlier on the new Mango app submission schedule (which will officially begin August 22). In the comments there is an exchange about some Mango features. The comment:

So how do you square this with Birds & Beaks? Well that’s a Microsoft produced title so they can do whatever they want to and that’s presumably a testing bed for what they plan to roll out. And hopefully the end result is a hybrid that let’s you use a credit card, add it to your carrier’s bill or Microsoft Points.
