LG Nexus 4, what does Nexus mean anymore?
|Let me be the first to admit I have no idea what Google’s Nexus brand is all about any more. From the start I thought it was device to show OEM’s how to do Android. I thought it was all about a pure Android experience blanketed by beautiful design. Well, some of this still holds true, but this is now the 3rd OEM to make a Nexus device, resulting in a once again different look and feel. I could be wrong, but it feels like just yesterday the last Nexus device was released, where is this one coming from already?! It doesn’t seem like the Nexus brand is handing out lessons on exclusivity any more, looks more like its following suite.
None the less, this phone comes spec’d like a champion! Featuring a Quad core snapdragon S4 processor, 2GB of ram, a huge 4.7 inch display boasting a nice 1280 x 768 resolution and running the latest and greatest Jelly Bean Android os. Rumored to be released October 29th, does this latest Nexus 4 have a place in your heart?
Maybe a physically different look and feel but for Android fans its a phone with the pure google experience, meaning no manufacturer skinning of the OS. Also quick updates. Its always been about the software with fast updates. Maybe you mean with the last Nexus, those updates have been stifled by Verizon and Sprint which is sad but true. I believe that is the only way those phone could have landed on those carriers. I bought a GSM galaxy nexus for my wife and she is starting to appreciate is after having an iPhone 4 for almost two years.
Allt hat’s important is that MS learns that they can compete with their OEMs and make their own phone and everyone keeps moving forward. OK MS now do it.
