Metro UI on Android
|Metro Interface is classy and colorful User Experience of modern Microsoft World. The Metro Interface has its roots from Zune Players to Windows Phone 7 and now in Windows 8. If you own a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and always have an eye on this colorful interface which looks colorful and clear, who wouldn’t unless you are a hardcore Apple or Android Fan, then you can have it and say thanks to XDA and BroBot175. Here are the pictures of original Metro UI (on Windows 8 Consumer Preview of course) and the Metro UI theme on Transformer.
Metro UI Theme has been adopted for many Android devices that are rooted and are running Ice Cream Sandwich such as Galaxy Tab 10.1 etc. This UI is still in Beta, but has a lot of similarities of Metro UI. BroBot175 also adopted some of the functionality of Metro User Experience such as Metro style notifications in addition to the look and feel.
The Metro UI has been ported to various custom ROMs based on Android 3.x aka Honeycomb or Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). The custom ROMs that have this theme as a flavor or GalaxyTask ROM, Overcome 3G ROM, Mablito 3G ROM, and Seraphiserapis Wi-Fi, and Android Open Kang Project (AOKP) for Ice Cream Sandwich. Metro UI theme is available for some other Android devices that are running on Gingerbread or Ice Cream Sandwich.
Now coming to things that are still Work In Progress and some of the features like Live Tiles are not available with this build. This build is in early stage and you will encounter many bugs.
As per BroBot175, this is supported on Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, Asus eee Pad Transformer, Acer Iconia Tab a500, Kindle Fire and HP Touchpad running on Honeycomb or Ice Cream Sandwich flavors of Android. If your device doesn’t fall in these categories, you could contact him or download the theme and make changes that meet your needs.
You can download from BroBot175’s site and follow the instructions about the requirements, prerequisites such as rooting etc. and instructions for installing. Or you can port theme to suit your tastes and devices by following his guidelines from here.

This looks awesome. I’m probably going to wait until it matures a bit more, but I definitely want to put this on my ASUS Transformer at some point.
