Motorola ATRIX 4G Pre-Sales Feb. 13th launch March 6th
|AT&T has just announced that it will be putting the Motorola ATRIX 4G, the much anticipated Android device on presale the same day as the launch of their HTC Inspire 4G, and Verizon’s launch of the iPhone 4, February 13th for $199.99. This is a little higher than the Amazon and Costco pricing but inline with other AT&T top tier smartphones. The general launch of the ATRIX 4G will be on March 6th which is what we originally hearing instead of the Mid February rumors floating around. Mobility Digest did find out that AT&T Sales Staff are getting trained on the ATRIX 4G as we speak, but we have not cracked any further than that.
Some other Tidbits is the pricing on the Laptop Accessory for the ATRIX 4G will priced at $499.99 sold separately, or bundled together with the phone for $499.99 on a two year contract and $100 mail-in-rebate after subscription to Data Pro smartphone data plan and tethering add on. So that Adds another $20 dollars to the cost, ouch. I could be wrong, but I am seeing Celio Redfly written all over the laptop accessory at that price. The Motorola HD Multimedia Dock, a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, and a remote control for $189.99.
I am very excited for the device, and I was pretty on board with the accessories as well, but after hearing the pricing for them and the mandatory tethering plan, I am wavering a bit. Anyone getting the ATRIX 4G? What do you think about the accessories? Drop a comment!
