Motorola XOOM 2 official announced with ICS update coming
|Android’s flagship tablet, the Motorola XOOM was loaded with hardware goodness, but lacked the slick user experience to really push it over the top. However, that did not stop either Motorola or Google as they both have been hard at work following up with the second coming of the XOOM called, the XOOM 2, what else? There will be two versions of the XOOM 2, the first will be the 10.1 inch tablet and the second called the Media Edition which will sport a smaller 8.2 inch display. The downside will once again be that at launch, both editions will be running Honeycomb, the same OS that plagued the original XOOM. Fear not, lovers of all things Android Tablet, Motorola has confirmed to Pocket Link that they are intending to update the XOOM 2 to the latest and greatest Android OS, Ice Cream Sandwich, six or so weeks after they release it. Apparently, this update process has not been fully concluded because Moto gave indication that there would be a code, and when it arrives, it would take 6 weeks later… What? Sounds like a disaster waiting to happen and many pissed off XOOM 2 tablet owners waiting for their update.
The good news is Motorola put some high end hardware to work in the XOOM 2 and both will have a 1.2GHZ dual core processor, and HD screens with Corning Gorilla Glass. Moto also rounded the edges pretty severely to obviously differentiate the XOOM from patent protecting Apple who has waged war against Samsung. Not really sure I like the rounded corners, but under the hood, this thing is a beast. Check out the full list of specs below and video after that. Can someone confirm that is Joe Satriani jamming in the video? The great Satchmo pounding adds some more flava to a pretty cool video by Moto.
Look for XOOM 2 to launch sometime mid November and an Ice Cream Sandwich update next year.

About xoom 2 ICS update, I think Motorola responding very slow. Some other Manufacture already got the updated. Don’t talk about update, even my xoom 2 now still having crash or freezing problem. Very disappointed devices I have bought. I believe this is the last product I bought under Motorola.
