Would You Use or Buy a Bluetooth Enabled Light Bulb?
|I got this PR and I just kind of sat there are stared at it and just wondered to myself what’s the point of it? Sure I guess it’s interesting and unique but would you really want your light bulb blinking at you when you get a phone call? I think that would just be annoying as hell. Yes the bulb can do other things like party mode, wake mode, music sync, relax mode and there’s even a romance mode. Yes I said romance mode..whatever, pic and PR below for you..
The Lumen TL800, the first Bluetooth smart bulb to market, is available for purchase today in North America. Sixteen million color options are available with the dimmable LED RGBW (Red, Blue, Green and White) bulb. Because it uses Bluetooth 4.0, the bulb can be used anywhere there is a socket. The only tools needed are the bulb and Lumen’s proprietary app, currently available for Apple and some Android models. Simply download Lumen’s proprietary app, plug in the bulb and light up the room.
The energy efficient bulb generates 400 lumens of warm white light, comparable to a 40W bulb, but with one-sixth of the power consumption. The bulb will turn on when in Bluetooth range of the bulb, and off when outside of the range for low power consumption, both for both the phone and the bulb.
The TL800 provides various modes for different occasions. Features include:
• Call Alert Mode: Notifies users of incoming calls by flashing when the phone rings.
• Music Sync Mode: Visualize your music by synchronizing your music and lighting effects. Music Sync Mode is customizable, allowing users to choose desired color combinations.
• Party Mode 1 and 2: Transform any space into a dance floor with pre-programmed flashing beats that match the music.
• Wake Mode: Mimics the sunrise in the morning, gradually brightening until it reaches maximum intensity at the stipulated wake up time. Users can customize how long the brightening process should take, from 5 minutes to 15 minutes.
• Romance Mode: Creates the perfect condition for a romantic date or quiet evening at home with a warm atmosphere.
• Relaxation Mode: Simulates calming moonlight, creating a relaxing ambiance.Comparable to other smart bulbs, Lumen is an affordable option, especially since there is no start-up kit, networking hub or internet connection needed. One bulb, which lasts up to 30,000 hours, retails for $69.99.
The Lumen TL800 is now available for purchase in North America. Find local retailers here: www.lumenbulb.net.
