500,000 Android activations and day and growing is more accurate according to Andy Rubin at Google who is the Senior Vice President of Mobile. Android’s incredible growth is coming on all fronts as we are seeing more low end handsets running Android as well as Wireless Carriers Flagship devices. Optimized or not, these devices are capturing a lot of attention and getting sucked up by consumers. Reportedly activating 300,000 devices in December 2010, the Android Army marches forward with 60% increase in just seven months. Damn that’s a lot of phones!
