Esquire is now available in iTunes for the iPad. From watching their demo (below) you can see this isn’t just a digital version of their magazine. They’ve filled it with interactive elements. So in fashion, for example, you can spin the model 360 degrees to see it from all angles. And there’s embedded content and information throughout the easily scrollable layout. You can save and share content and get video content as well. The downside, of course, is that there’s not a subscription model for it yet. So it’s $5 for the current month…then repeat each month.
You can get more info at Esquire’s site. The interesting part of this, for me, has less to do with Esquire and more to do with the future of digital content and you can see that this has a lot of advantages over paper.
