In an arguably unnecessary but undeniably politically incendiary move, Google renamed their google.ps website from “Google Palestinian Territories” to just  “Google Palestine,” according to Ars.

Regardless of whether or not people seem to think this sort of thing is progress, it will likely ruffle some feathers and create a political liability for Google. To what end Google decided to do this, I’m not sure. Perhaps simply to do Good™?
