According to MobileCrunch.com, HTC is planning on including a 3.5mm headphone jack on nearly all of their future handsets being released after the new, Android powered, HTC Hero.  MC.com contacted HTC for confirmation and got the following response:

“The vast majority of devices we launch after Hero will have a 3.5mm jack. Devices that we have already announced but that still come out after Hero will not necessarily be a part of this change.”

Does this mean that all Windows Mobile phones as well as Android phones will have the jack?  Only time will tell!  I’m more interested in knowing if the 3.5mm jack will support VIDEO as well, leaving the USB port open for more interesting things like.. VGA output, or dare I say … HDMI?
