So if you’re got a Kindle Fire, right now you can go and get the official SlingPlayer app and sling some media to it. Price is $29.99 which personally I think is a bit high considering you’ll have to buy a Slingbox if you don’t own one. if you already own one I still think it’s a bit high. What do you think? Is it worth it?

For more information, visit the SlingPlayer for Kindle Fire page.

Why: SlingPlayer for Kindle Fire allows Slingbox owners to extend their living room TV experience to their Kindle Fire tablets. When connected to a Slingbox SOLO or Slingbox PRO-HD, SlingPlayer for Kindle Fire makes it easy to watch their favorite shows, change channels, control their digital video recorder (DVR) anywhere their Kindle Fire can connect to the internet. They never have to miss another show or game, no matter where they are.

How: For $29.99, consumers can download the SlingPlayer for Kindle Fire application from the Amazon Appstore for Android.

  1. Yes…especially since the Dish SlingPlayer app is free. I guess Dish can make up the costs with the subscriptions but I agree with you that we shouldn’t have to pay $30 to watch a small/choppy version when we already purchased the other hardware.
