The SolaPad is a combination case and solar charger for the iPad. Presently it works with the iPad 1 and 2 with a version for the new iPad in the works. Not only is it a sola charger but it has a built-in long range wi-fi antenna and two speakers. Not too exciting to me as I don’t own an iPad and I never will, but read on to check it out…

Domark International Inc. (OTCBB: DOMK) announced today that the Company has formed a new subsidiary and has acquired the exclusive worldwide licensing rights and joint-patenting rights to the new highly-anticipated SolaPad iPad accessory. The SolaPad is a “one of a kind” revolutionary solar charger sleeve and “super charger” for the hugely popular Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) iPad. The name of Domark’s new subsidiary is SolaWerks.

The new SolaWerks SolaPad is an electronic sleeve manufactured specifically for the iPad and contains a solar panel on the back and an additional internal battery to keep the iPad charged at all times – but that’s not all. The SolaPad is being developed to contain a very long range WiFi antenna and two world-class quality speakers, as well as other new items that will make your iPad excel above the rest. The SolaPad currently is constructed to fit the iPad 1 and iPad 2, but is under development to also fit the iPad 3, which made its worldwide debut last week.

  1. I did the math on how much charging capacity a solar cell case for the iPad would have. It would take 2 days to charge an iPad battery outdoors, and more than 200 days to charge indoors. And that’s not considering the fact that the photovoltaic cell is on the back of the case. iPhone numbers are the same. It is a useless device and part of a pump-and-dump stock scam.

  2. Looking at their website and prompting customers to buy their OTC stock, while providing very little product information leads me to agree with TechGuy11. I’ll definitely wait for real reviews before handing these questionable characters my CC info.

  3. I love this thing. I just got mine in the mail a few days ago and havent taken my ipad out yet. Its charging specs are 5V with a current of 2.1A for both input and output. The battery capacity is 6000mAh. It lets you know how much juice it has indicated by LED lights on the back, the clasping feature that holds the ipad in is great (i’ve had other external betteries that dont offer that kind of security). It adds a little weight but not really noticable. The stand on the back rocks for movies or games. The website was kinda iffy and could use a facelift but the product is spot on.
