heliI know that we are a total 100% Mobility Blog and we are not straying from that path. But on occasion, we have decided to share with you some of the behind the scenes chatter on the Mobility Digest Team email chaos and some non-mobility related gadgets we have been discussing. So today, our guru of all things gadgets Kristofer emails that ThingFling.com has a Super Phantom 3.5ch Radio Controlled 13 Inch Helicopter with Built-In Gyroscope for $40 bucks plus another $6 bucks shipping. I do not personally have this model, but I really enjoy flying RC Remote Controlled Heli’s. For a metal body, this looks to be a pretty good deal. You only have 12 hours or so to take advantage of this so head on over to ThingFling.com if you are interested.

If you are a RC Heli Guru, share you thoughts on what is good and what isn’t (I am always looking for a cool new Heli!)

The Super Phantom 3.5ch Radio Controlled 13 Inch Helicopter with Built-In Gyroscope features stabilizing gyroscope to balance the direction of the helicopter automatically for a more stable flight!

This RC helicopter has a metal body making it strong yet light weight.

It can go forward, backward, up, down, left, right. This RC is the perfect size for indoor and outdoor use at 13 inches long,

We found this video (looks like its the same model) that will give you an idea of what it looks like flying.

  • Function: Go Up & Down, Turn Right & Left, Go Forward & Back; Wireless lighting control; 2 control mode for beginner & experts.
  • Flight Area: 30-60m (Editors note: Highly unlikely)
  • Flight Area: 15-20m (Editors note: This seems a lot more accurate based on my experience)
  • Fly Time: 7min
  • Charging Time: 2 – 3 Hours
  • Battery: 3.7V 1000mAh Li-ion batteries

Here are couple videos for the Heli:

  1. I copied their ad over, but I can assure you that there is NO way this thing goes beyond 15-20 meters. (20 meters = 65.6168 feet)

  2. I just bought one Patrick! Even though I saw this through my “ignorant” phone I still got-r-done! LMAO Just kidding!

  3. @Doug Smith: I made sure not to generalize everyone. Hence, the ‘most of’ or ‘nearly’ statements :)

There’s a few people that can justify their purchases, and I have no problem with that, including yourself. It’s the others that upset me.
