I have to admit I like this. I’m not a wrist watch person, I used to be, but I stopped wearing them many years ago for reasons I don’t even recall but the new Cookoo watch might be a reason to start wearing one again, or maybe not. Still it’s a cool little product that has just launched on Kickstarter. It’s a connected watch via Bluetooth that let’s you know about incoming social updates, emails, calls, chats or texts and even when your battery is low. The watch itself looks pretty good as well. They’ll be selling for $99.99 but you can get one for pledging only $50 which isn’t bad.

It began with a simple concept: a product that would reduce the everyday hassles of a connected life.  Now, ConnecteDevice is excited to announce that the cookoo™ watch is launching on Kickstarter. The cookoo watch is a wearable technology that extends your smartphone to your wrist. It’s a traditional timepiece with a high-tech twist to help you manage your connected life.

This watch uses Bluetooth® wireless technology to let you know what is happening on your phone in real time—even if your phone is out of sight.  Your iOS or Android smart device may not always be at hand, but the cookoo watch is. Using Bluetooth SMART technology, it lets you know when you receive a call, text, Facebook message, calendar notification and more! The cookoo watch is compatible with the latest Bluetooth SMART READY devices such as the iPhone 4S, new iPad, HTC One X, Samsung Galaxy S3, with many more to come.

All alerts can be customized and prioritized based on your preferences via the Connected App™ so thecookoo watch will only display the information that you care about most. When a notification is received, the corresponding icon will appear on the face of the watch along with a discreet beep or vibration.  For example, if you receive a Facebook message then the social networking icon will appear.

The cookoo watch’s COMMAND button can be configured with the Connected App.  It allows you to find your phone, check-in on apps like Facebook®, tag your location on the Connected App’s map, or take a group picture remotely—with more features and app tie-ins to be added as the Connected App develops.

The cookoo watch will come in a variety of colors: black on black, brushed stainless on black, blue on black, white on black, and green on black (special Kickstarter edition).  It is expected to retail for $99.95 with blue and white color editions retailing for $129.95.
