Wow–the upgrade to Windows 8 Pro is only $39.99

OK now I know we’ll all be upgrading as Microsoft has revealed the price for an upgrade to Windows Pro and it’s just $40 if you do it by downloadable content ($70 in stores). This applies for Vista, XP or Windows 7. And yes, Pro is the version you want in their new streamlined versions. They made it even sweeter “And if you want, you can add Windows Media Center for free through the “add features” option within Windows 8 Pro after your upgrade.” That was expected to be an additional cost. This is a limited time thing to get the adoption rates up “This upgrade promotion for Windows 8 Pro both online and at retail runs through January 31st, 2013.” I don’t care – I’m in on multiple computers. Even if this is cheaper per license than past MS updates, I’ll wind up upgrading all of my computers now so they got me and I’m ok with it.
