Apple releases iOS 5.0.1update

Apple has just released iOS 5.01, the first update to iOS 5 that will deal with the much discussed battery life issue. Even though there was some work arounds to save battery life, multitasking gestures for the original ipad, iCloud documents , and some “down under” Australian voice recognition when using dictation.

So this is just a minor update, it took maybe 3-5 minutes total to update while connected to WIFI and not bloody iTunes (insert cheering here).

No word on when we will get the panoramic feature that was discovered buried in the OS this week (see here).

Even though this was a small update, I am pretty happy to see how easy it went without having to connect to iTunes. A notification would have been nice, but all in all. Not bad Apple.
