ArcSoft “Whip Social Photo Album” Comes to Android on Google Play
|Whip Social Photo Album is just like it sounds apparently, it lets you combine photos, text and even music into photo albums that can be shared via Twitter, Facebook, Email or SMS. The app is free, but I don’t know why you’d want it, it sounds annoying to me, then again that’s just me, you might like it and actually have a use for it.
Remember the dusty family album that lives on that dark shelf over there? Ok, now forget about it – go get “Whip™ Social Photo Album”, a fun mobile application for Android by ArcSoft. The free app, available today, allows you to make a social photo album both your mom and your BFF will actually like, combining photos, text, and music. Give them the opportunity to comment on your latest creation – you can share your Whip via SMS, email, Twitter or Facebook (or all of them, why not). If you need to chill out after the holiday craze, browse through the app’s community Whips, which right now include exclusive backstage photo albums by rock star band The Killers and winter tips from fashion guru Eva Chen (formerly of Teen Vogue). Go ahead, dream about what it’d be like to be famous, or create your own album in just a few minutes.
“Our goal is to provide people with an easy but powerful mobile experience that allows them to tell their story,” said Todd Peters, ArcSoft’s SVP of Consumer and Commercial Business. “We’re excited to bring Whip to Android, a great platform which will enable millions of users to express themselves and share their social photo albums with the community.”
Creating a Whip™ is simple: choose up to 24 photos for each album. Once your photos are selected, the album is automatically generated with just one tap, so you can create with one hand and sip on your latte with the other. After that, select one of nine available templates that range from classic to whimsically fun (Nine, like the number of muses that inspire geniuses – coincidence or subliminal message? You decide). Get hip and include background music from “indie” bands, add a haiku or other caption to show that you’re actually funny, or get creative with a unique layout to channel your inner Artiste. You don’t have to believe us; take it from @EricHenning, who says on Twittter: “I LOVE the new “Whip” app!! AMAZING & it’s free! #WhipThis whiptheapp.com.”
Once your Whip is created, it’s time to get the raves rolling in through your social networks. If you love outside validation for your work, feel free to post newly created Whips to the in-app WhipStream, a timeline of the latest Whips created by the community, where likes and comments abound.
