Facebook Camera App in the works even before Instagram Purchase
|One of the biggest pet peeves of mine with the iPhone is how you can upload pictures to Twitter from the Camera Roll and not to Facebook. I do use Twitter some but never the amount of pictures that I do with Facebook. So I had been hoping for this update to come soon. Instead, we saw that Facebook shelled out 1 billion dollars for Instagram, an incredibly popular photo app that took up the iOS slack of not having that function natively. So today, we get word that Apple will release at some point the Facebook Camera App that would have directly competed with Instagram if it had not been purchased. So why buy Instagram and release the Facebook Camera app too? Well, the deal has not been finalized as the FTC is still probing Zuckerberg’s case. I never really used Instagram as I hate Apps that take the place of what the OS should have done in the first place, but the Facebook App should be a handy app for those picture freaks like me. I just hope Apple implements native picture uploading from your camera roll and really hack off Facebook and make the Instagram purchase and their work on a stand alone app seem useless!
Share your photos in a snap with Facebook Camera. Post a bunch of photos to Facebook at once, and see what friends are up to with a feed of nothing but their photos.
– Post multiple photos from your camera roll at a time
– Crop and apply filters to give your photos a new look
– Scroll down a single feed of all your friends’ photos
– Tag your friends, add photo captions and say where you are
– See photos from the different apps your friends use
The Facebook Camera App should be ready in the App Store soon and is already posted on iTunes here.
