Flicktweets App Approved

So here’s on for you iPhone, iPod Touch owners out there. Flicktweets is a cool little app that collects and organizes tweets about movies so you can easily see who’s saying what about a certain movie you might want to see.

Flicktweets (www.flicktweets.com), the first website to organize movie tweets based on movie titles, has today announced its iPhone application. Flicktweets has been approved for iPhone and iPod touch and is available as a free download on the App Store.

"The Flicktweets app will allow users easy access to track the buzz around trailers and releases, a benefit for both moviegoers and movie marketers," says David Larkin, Managing Director of Flicktweets.com and MRQE.com. Tweets about films are filtered from Twitter to ensure a Flicktweets user will receive only the most relevant information. For formal reviews, which are listed next to each movie title, there is the MRQE Metric Score. This is a tabulation of aggregated critical reviews, provided by MRQE.com, the Movie Review Query Engine.

Flicktweets also allows one to access movie details, including cast, director, running time, MPAA rating and synopsis to make the most informed decision when taking in a new film. The user can then click to Fandango.com to purchase tickets. Fandango incorporates the Flicktweets API as part of its "Movie Tweets" product at Fandango.com and on the Fandango iPhone app.

Flicktweets incorporates a search function, linked to MRQE.com’s database of 79,000 films, allowing a user to pick from mainstream blockbusters to art house indie flicks. Flicktweets offers an interactive experience for watching movies, allowing users to get a glimpse of the reviews of their peers as well as allowing for viewers to then try getting their own tweets on the board.
