Googlerola is Official–Now To Figure Out What it Means

So the Google’s buyout of Motorola Mobility is official now. They got patents and of course a hardware maker out of the deal.  The question of course, is what they’re going to do with them. They’ve stated that Moto will produce Android hardware but act independent of Google. There are thoughts they will make flagship devices. Of course, Google can’t piss off the other OEMs so we’ll have to see where this goes. My gut tells me that they start off benign and continue the path they’re on with some inside info. Over the next 18 months as the industry keeps evolving Google draws them closer and gives them leads not just in Android but other home devices and they’ll have a significant advantage over other manufacturers that are producing Android handsets. Of course, that leads to more Tizen but that’s a separate story…
