IE In WP7 Holds Its Own
|PocketNow put the iPhone 4, NexusOne (running 2.2) and a developers LG version of WP7 against each other in a browser speed comparison. You should remember that the WP7 software is old (it’s actually the same build in the emulator so it’s a bit out of date) and the hardware will never hit the streets and as we know, the hardware is not optimized like the final phones will be. With all those caveats, it still holds its own in terms of browser speed, scrolling smoothness and rotation speed. They may be on to something here. The first few minutes just show a walk through of IE before the comparison begins. Check it out:

The last test with Amazon was totally bunk.
IE7M loaded the normal Amazon page faster than the iPhone or the Nexus one loaded the mobile page.
And after that, when he did the “Oh, lets all actually go to the same page” test, they didn’t actually go to the same page.
