iPhone 4G Mfg. Foxconn To Ship 24 Million in 2010?

ah….wow….

We all know that the iPhone and iPad sells like crazy in the first month they get released. We You are used to standing in the long lines waiting to get your Apple fix in the form of a mobile device. But as many of you know, and after all the leaks (cough) and lawsuits (chuckle) Digitimes Research is saying that Foxconn, the manufacturer for the coveted iPhone 4G will ship and estimated 24 m-m-m-million devices in 2010! Yes, that’s right, the year will be half over by the time this thing launches!

Foxconn will ship 4.5 million in the first half of 2010 and another 19.5 million during the balance of 2010. Everyone is waiting for Apple to drop the iPhone 4G bomb at their Worldwide Developers Conference on June 7, 2010.

The new device will adopt IPS (in-plane switching) panels with FFS (fringe-field switching) technology and a 960×640 resolution” said Digitimes senior analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Kuo also noted that LG Display and Prime View International are the panel suppliers.

The iPhone 4G will run on the Arm Cortex A8 processor and a 512MB memory module from Samsung Electronics, doubling the memory capacity seen in the iPhone 3GS to take advantage of the multi-tasking capability of the iPhone 4.0 platform, Kuo revealed.” And that "To solve battery life issues, the new iPhone’s panel is 33% thinner than in previous iPhone versions to permit more space for larger battery modules supplied by Simplo Technology and Dynapack International Technology.”
