Mobility Digest Review: OtterBox Commuter Series For HTC HD2
|Living here in the United States and being handcuffed to AT&T, I could not get the T-Mobile version of the HTC HD2, I had to pony up and get the Telstra version of the HTC HD2 (T9193) to be able to use 3G. At the time it was more than $800.00. So with a device worth that much money, you are not going to be looking for a cheap case to protect your investment. You need the best. Enter OtterBox. You all know the name. It is synonymous with quality and performance. So today I am going to be testing the OtterBox Commuter Series Case for the HTC HD2 International Version. So sit on back and let’s take a look at what OtterBox has to offer!
First things first, let’s have a look at what comes with the OtterBox Commuter Series for the HTC HD2:
Material:
- Self-adhering clear screen protector
- Durable silicone skin
- High-quality polycarbonate outer shell
Compatibility:
- HTC HD2 (Models T9193 and T8585 International Version ONLY)
Features:
- Access to all buttons and features
- Silicone plugs provide coverage for ports

The bigger the screen, the more surface area to scratch. Never fear! The OtterBox Commuter Series for HTC® HD2™ (International Version ONLY) will protect your ridiculously large display with ease. Not only does this slim HD2 case look great, you’ll love the natural feel and the access provided to all of your phone’s functions.
About our Commuter Series: Three slender, yet sturdy layers offer tough protection in a sleek package. With a slim form factor and smooth outer layer, this case slides easily in and out of a pocket, purse or bag.
Here is the instructional video on how to install the OtterBox Heavy Duty Screen Protector:
The Screen Protector from OtterBox is a very heavy duty, high quality that will assure you long lasting protection. I found that the all corners fit properly and installation was quite easy. As with some screen protectors, there tends to be a lot of air between the screen and the cover, with the OtterBox, there was a very minimal amount of air bubbles and removing them was pretty easy.
The actual installation of the case was very easy as you saw in my video. The HTC HD2 slips easily into the silicone part of the case and putting the polycarbonate back cover into place was not difficult at all. When completed the case fit snug and did not add the bulk like my last review of the Tilt 2 OtterBox Commuter Series case did. I found the extra bulk of the case acceptable for the added protection it would give.
Slipping the HTC HD2 with the OtterBox Commuter Series Case into my front pocket was still a little difficult and the Silicone tended to grab the fabric where it is exposed on the corners of the device.
If you are in the market for case that will not only protect your investment but be a high quality value you for your money, I would definitely recommend the OtterBox Commuter Series for the HTC HD2
